The Tamtam Early Intervention Centre is currently the only provider of early intervention services to families with children with hearing and combined impairments in the Czech Republic, having launched its activities in 2000. Early intervention services are provided throughout the Czech Republic from two central workplaces. The Prague Tamtam centre provides early intervention services to clients in Bohemia, while the Olomouc Tamtam centre provides early intervention services in Moravia.

Who can become a client of the Tamtam Early Intervention Centre?

Tamtam Centre services may be used by families bringing up a child with hearing or combined impairment (one of which is hearing) from the child’s birth maximally up to the age of 7. The Tamtam Centre also provides early intervention services to families where the parents are hearing-impaired, regardless of whether or not their child hears. The Tamtam Centre does not actively seek clients itself. Instead, parents turn to the centre themselves based on information from the internet, recommendations from specialised physicians, information leaflets or other parents.
